You couldn't make it up
Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 13:32
Typical Sunday morning. Watched my son play rugby.
This afternoon is less typical. We are driving to rural Lincolnshire with a view to buying a puppy – an F1 American cockapoo.
It's a cross breed. The mum is an American cocker spaniel and the dad is a miniature poodle.
Incidentally, if you mate an F1 cockapoo to another F1 cockapoo you get an F2 (second generation) cockapoo, otherwise known as a cockapoo-poo.
I'm not making this up!
We have now purchased, at great expense, an eight-week-old American cockapoo (male).
I will post a picture after we have brought him home next weekend.

heh heh heh - as I live in Lincolnshire I believe you but many others may not :>)
Do post a photo of the little chap or chapette after you pick him or her up.
Very familiar with F1 and F2s - after buying (also vast expense) 2 labradoodle puppies last year.
OMG I can just imagine you in the park when a fellow dog owner asks you what sort of dog is that and you tell them he's a Cockapoo, if it was me, I'd say he's a mongey!
Best of luck with your new furry friend.
We still miss our spaniel Sheba who died 10yrs ago, we had her for 14yrs, we never had to put her on a lead or buy a licence and she was free to do her own thing in those days.
I would never get another dog now because of the PC Brigade with all their rules and restrictions but most of all because I would refuse to clean up any dog S * * T!
Cockapoos? Labradoodles? What is it with poodles - are they particularly randy?
Looking forward to the pic and going aaah :)
