WATCH: Prohibition and the infantilisation of Britain
Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 11:30
The video of our panel discussion at the IEA last week is now available on YouTube.
Someone has commented that at 1hr 20 mins it’s too long so they won’t watch it, and I have some sympathy with that.
The point is, it hasn’t been edited so what you get is the full discussion, including the Q&As, and the reason it's been uploaded is for the benefit of those who couldn’t attend and may wish to watch/listen to the whole thing.
I do understand though that it may not appeal to the TikTok generation.
PS. Apologies for some sound issues with one panellist’s microphone. It wasn’t apparent in the room otherwise it would have been corrected at the time.

Thanks, Simon, for the chance to experience and enjoy an event that it was totally impractical for many of us to attend in person. I'd thoroughly recommend others set aside the time to watch it.
Put off by the length? Look at it this way, it's shorter than a feature film on DVD or 2-hour TV detective series we put aside an evening to watch at home - so why not watch it in the same way? Freeze to pop out and refill your glass, rewind an interesting comment you didn't quite catch, etc. etc.
Increasingly, I find I'm enjoying the monthly Zoom events of about this length from groups like Free Speech Union or Unherd rather than the dismal "serious" offerings of the main TV stations. It may be the only way I can experience wide ranging and informed comment on current events.
If Forest was to join that trend, with maybe a monthly or quarterly event to which viewers could submit questions for the online panellists or chat to each other as the event runs, I suspect there would be a good - and perhaps even a new - audience.
