Boring but important

The Government is reviewing the effectiveness of tobacco and related products legislation introduced in 2015 and 2016, by which they mean:

  • Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016
  • Standardised Packaging of Tobacco Products Regulations 2015

The consultation, which closes on Friday (19th March), includes questions about the impact of regulations on text and picture warnings, characterising flavours, pack sizes and the appearance of cigarettes.

There are also questions about e-cigarettes and novel tobacco products. Therefore, whether you smoke or vape, we strongly encourage you to submit a response because the outcome of the consultation could influence further tobacco and related products legislation.

For further information click here or go direct to the online consultation on the Government website.

It shouldn't take long to complete the online consultation but it's important you make your voice heard because the responses could influence the Government's new Tobacco Control Plan which is due to be published in the summer.

Closing date for submissions is Friday (March 19).
