The Smoking Room

I'm pleased to announce the launch of a new series of online meetings.

Hosted by Forest, The Smoking Room is an opportunity to enjoy an informal conversation with like-minded adults.

Topics for discussion will not be restricted to any one issue but will embrace a range of subjects.

To give it some focus however each meeting will feature a special guest who will be interviewed for 15-20 minutes before other participants join in.

Our first guest – on Wednesday February 24 – is Ranald Macdonald (above), managing director of Boisdale Restaurants.

Founded in 1988, Boisdale of Belgravia has since been joined by three more Scottish-themed restaurants – in Bishopsgate, Canary Wharf and Mayfair.

The smoking terraces at the Belgravia and Canary Wharf restaurants are a significant part of their appeal and success.

Once described as Britain’s ‘most politically incorrect restaurant owner’, Ranald has been a supporter of Forest for over 15 years.

Together we have hosted numerous events including Revolt In Style (at the Savoy Hotel in London in June 2007), the annual Freedom Dinner, and Forest's 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner in 2019.

To join us next week, please register here.

PS. Our next Talking Liberties webinar is on Wednesday March 10 (No Smoking Day) when we will be discussing the government's new tobacco control plan which is due in July.

Full details, including speakers, to follow.
