A little bit of Fry
Our panel of speakers for Monday's webinar is now complete and I'm delighted to welcome Tam Fry, spokesman for the National Obesity Forum.
The last time our paths crossed we were in a secondary school near York where the BBC was broadcasting an edition of The Big Questions.
Tam has been spokesman for the National Obesity Forum since 2005 but until this week I hadn't realised that he began his career with the BBC where he worked for 25 years.
As a senior director he worked on productions such as the Apollo moon landing and was also one of the team that introduced breakfast television to the UK in the early Eighties.
While working at the BBC he co-founded the Child Growth Foundation and 'juggled' both jobs until 1988 when he left the BBC to run CGF full time.
As I mentioned in a previous post, other guest speakers on Monday are Claire Fox, Baroness Bennett and Brian Monteith.
It’s a cracking panel so I hope you will join us. Given the subject (The Nanny State of the Nation), and the fact that we have speakers with very opposing views, it promises to be a lively debate.
