Dear Forest, please stop smoking

Dear Forest,

I'm a singer songwriter, and I'm releasing my third song on the 10th of June. It is a positive anti smoking song, the aim is to inspire smokers to quit smoking via the song.

I was wondering if you would be interested to collaborate with me [sic] as you are an anti-smoking organisation, and help me promote my song via your site and social medias?

If you're interested, please get back to me, and I will send you the song for you to promote.

Dear X,

Thank you for your email. We would be very interested to hear your song but it’s unlikely we would want to promote it.

FOREST stands for Freedom Organisation for the Right to Enjoy Smoking Tobacco and we support the rights of adults to smoke without excessive restrictions or discrimination.

Millions of adults enjoy smoking. It’s both a comfort and a pleasure to many adults and as long as smokers know the potential risks to their health it’s a matter for them whether they smoke.

I am sure your song is well-meaning but I’m afraid a lot of smokers are rather tired of being lectured about their habit.

Best wishes,

Hi Simon,

Well, since you mentioned you're interested in listening to the song, just thought I'd let you know the song title is called 'Please Stop Smoking' and it's coming out on the 10th of June. Do let me know what you thought of it, when it comes out?

I surely will. Watch this space.

I have a better idea for a song, it's called "Please stop persecuting smokers!"

In the last century -
tobacco has been blamed for the effects of chemical warfare in WW1
Heart attacks in German soldiers on the Eastern Front in WW2
The health effects on Bomb Test veterans and their descendants after the nuclear tests.
The effects of the sulphurous coal smoke and industrial smoke in the Great London Smog of 1952
Every illness for which the cause was then unknown but later found to be entirely unrelated.
Plane companies blamed tobacco for diseases in their air crew later found to be faulty bleed air systems and had been known about since the 50's.
Even asbestos companies tried blaming tobacco for their workers illnesses.

What would they do without it.
