Forest Christmas drinks
This evening, from 6.00pm, Forest will host a virtual Christmas drinks party on Zoom.
Over 60 people have registered to attend and guests include Chris Snowdon (Institute of Economic Affairs), Patrick Basham (Democracy Institute), Elise Rasmussen (Tobacco Reporter), Ian O'Doherty (Irish Independent), former MEP Brian Monteith, and John Mallon (Forest Ireland).
Other guests include Pat Nurse, blogger Frank Davis and – from the United States – musician Juliette Tworsey and smokers' rights campaigner Emily Wieja.
Co-hosting the event with me is Rob Lyons, author of a 2020 Forest booklet entitled 'Prohibition: A bad idea that won't go away', so do please join us.
We'll be reviewing the year and discussing a number of topical issues. One of these is the question of personal responsibility which is back on the political agenda.
Well done, Boris, btw, for standing firm against a Christmas lockdown despite enormous pressure from 'experts', healthcare professionals and attention-seeking politicians.
His natural liberal instincts haven't completely deserted him, which is heartening.
Anyway, this evening's event is a virtual PARTY so we are inviting guests to bring refreshments – beer, wine etc – and to smoke or vape if they want to!
You have until 5.30pm to register. Click here.

Unable to join you, sadly, but please imagine me raising a glass from a rock in the middle of the Irish Sea.
Sadly, there are recent hints that even our 'mostly harmless' government will follow UK public nuisance (sorry...'health') trends in 2021, such as finally banning smoking outside our local hospital.
So, best wishes to all in their efforts to retain a little common decency and sanity in the coming year.
