"E-cigarettes would also be included in the voluntary ban"

Here's last night's report on plans to introduce a "voluntary" ban on smoking in children's play areas in Basingstoke.

It includes a soundbite from me and concludes with this statement:

E-cigarettes would also be included in the voluntary ban as some fear they attract children to tobacco, and that's a slippery slope.

The report starts at 08:00 but the programme is only available online until 6:55 tonight.

Good. Maybe that'll wake 'em up and make them realise we are in it together however much they try to distance themselves from us and see the two battles as different.

As most vapers couldn't give a stuff about my rights, I couldn't care less about their's.

I'm a vaper, but I'm pro-choice rather than anti-smoking. And tbh, as 2/3rds of ecig users are estimated to also use lit tobacco, it can't be true that most vapers don't care about smokers rights. I think all that happens is that as smokers we fell for the TC guff, and continued to smoke in a miasma of guilt - once we became vapers, we started to see the TC bull for what it was, but that takes time. Take a snapshot and there will be plenty of vapers still under the thrall of the TC spell. Give us time Pat, we'll come round! We are in it together. Just takes time to see is all.

Two wrongs don't make a right, I vape and I care.
