Conservative conference diary part one

Last night, with the help of Conservatives for Liberty, we hosted one of the best conference events we have ever put on.

It was up there with Brighton (2005), Bournemouth (2006) and Liverpool (2011).

The Liberty Lounge: Stand Up For Freedom featured journalist James Delingpole and comedian Alistair Barrie.

We had no idea how many people would come but there was no need to worry.

The room was full, standing room only – we even had to turn people away for 'elf and safety!

Anyway, we've had some cracking feedback so I'm delighted.

Thanks, Gary. No, definitely not Lord Ashcroft!
