Have we got news for you

Special announcement.

Last month I reported that journalist and blogger James Delingpole will speak at our Stand Up For Freedom event in Birmingham on September 28.

I can now reveal he'll be joined by Comedy Store veteran Alistair Barrie who will perform 30 minutes of topical stand up comedy.

A core member of The Cutting Edge team at London's Comedy Store, Alistair has made numerous radio and television appearances around the world. He's written for BBC TV, Channel 4 and Radio 4.

He's taken six solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival and is a regular on Britain's comedy circuit.

Caustic (and hugely influential) comedy critic Kate Copstick has written: "Properly smart comedy for grown-ups. By a properly smart comic." (Scotsman)

Other reviews include: "Barrie's analytical nous and store of snappy gags mark him out … Excellent." (Independent)

Another reads: "Drops from the highbrow to the gutter in the draw of a breath." (Metro)

Click here for details of forthcoming gigs. They include Are You Taking The Peace? with Rich Hall, Stewart Francis and Holly Walsh on Monday September 22.

A self-confessed Labour supporter and a less than ardent admirer of Margaret Thatcher, Alistair should feel right at home at an event co-hosted by Conservatives for Liberty!

Delingpole and Barrie. The dream team. What could possibly go wrong?

PS. Other comedians who have performed at Forest events include Australian Steve Hughes, Canadian Tom Slade and Justin "I’ve never nor will be a Tory" Moorhouse.
