Deborah in the dock!

Here's a photo of ASH CEO Deborah Arnott.

At first glance she looks like a defendant arguing her case in the dock of a courtroom.

No such luck.

Yesterday British American Tobacco held its AGM and ASH took the opportunity to organise a small demo and post some pictures that are described as follows:

Young people protesting outside the BAT AGM at Banqueting House, Whitehall, before meeting MPs at the Palace of Westminster.

This morning The Filter, which is part of ASH Wales, tweeted:

Here are ASH's photos from the BAT AGM yesterday, some great shots of youth activism!

And Deborah.

Also in Committee Room 10, the cream of Britain's anti-smoking parliamentarians:

Bob Blackman MP (Conservative), Paul Burstow MP, Julian Huppert MP (Lib Dem), and Lord Rea, Kevin Barron MP, Alex Cunningham MP (Labour).

ASH is disgusting in its groomed exploitation of children and teaching them how to hate and fear.

Another example of Smokerphobia harming them and perverting our children.

Debs down wiv da yoof - suits her but what 'uniform' were many of the youngsters in? Representative of all youth?

All dressed in uniforms? Looks like they bribed a few school classes to act as props for the occasion.

'Bribed a few school classes' - part of the curriculum? - absent with permission? - AWOL?
If this was in school time investigate the school or fine the parents and hold Arnott responsible for incitement.

Youth activism? What the hell do 'youth' know apart from what they have been indoctrinated with?

Christ, I could have indoctrinated my kids with any garbage I wanted, had I been so inclined. Instead I taught them to be critical in their assimilation and assessment of knowledge, even knowledge coming from me, because all information is tainted with the opinion of its disseminator. Looks like these kids have been shamelessly brainwashed by those appalling creatures from ASH. What cynical use of innocents.

As an aside, I know one shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but every picture I've ever seen of Arnott has depicted what is almost a caricature of a pursed-lipped and misanthropic puritan. Is it a prerequisite for Tobacco Control?

I take it the parents were all fined £60 for removing the kids from education on a school day? ;)

I'll sum this up in one, RIDICULOUS, and one Conservative MP, no wonder the Tory's are where they are now.

If "youth activism" is so strong, then surely ASH needn't worry that children will start smoking?

And just as an aside - how come ASH were apparently given access to the AGM, when BAT are deliberately excluded from any Tobacco Control meetings? Just a thought.....

"every picture I've ever seen of Arnott has depicted what is almost a caricature of a pursed-lipped and misanthropic puritan"
As Roald Dahl described it - a small puckered-up mouth like a dog's bottom.
