How your local convenience store may look in 2020

I've been rather busy this week so I'm a bit late posting this video – produced by Imperial Tobacco – which can also be found on the Forest and Hands Off Our Packs websites.

My colleague Angela Harbutt describes it as a "chilling view of what 2020 might just look like". Actually, things could be even worse.

In the video a customer buys a packet of cigarettes for £10. As someone pointed out earlier today, if the government continues with the current tobacco escalator (inflation plus five per cent) the recommended retail price will be a lot more than that. (I'm not good at maths. Perhaps someone could work it out, based on a modest annual inflation rate of three per cent.)

Anyway, it's a good video worth watching. Please share it with your friends over this bank holiday weekend.
