Amend the ban? The people speak
Following last night's Smoke On The Water (see earlier post) ...
... here is the second of three videos from the Save Our Pubs and Clubs reception at the House of Commons on June 29.
Features interviews with Forest Eireann's John Mallon (above), former Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik, Paul Staines (blogger Guido Fawkes), Patrick Hayes (Institute of Ideas), jailed landlord Nick Hogan, publicans, members of the Working Men's Clubs and Institute Union, and David Hockney.
It's ten minutes long (there's an edited version on YouTube) but there are some good quotes and we didn't want to leave anyone out.
Feel free to post this or other videos from the Save Our Pubs and Clubs channel on other blogs and websites.

Thank you for that. Great to watch and hear so many people with whom I agree.
I loved David Hockney's comment regarding the medical profession - where he said he didn't want a long life on THEIR terms. He wanted to live his life on his OWN terms.
An excellent point, and very well put.
It must be a bit of a shock to ASH to see all these people in their 60's and 70's still standing upright. Not only alive, but vocal in opposition to their vision. Surely they shouldn't have survived their childhoods with all that passive smoke around. OMG! Something is amiss. Alert the press!
Some great comments there especially from Guido, the pipe club guys and Pat Nurse, Patsy you seem to be getting better and more accomplished at this public speaking lark everytime i hear you, well done lv.
Thanks Frosty - TBH I thought it was a bit manic as I was very nervous and always am in front of the camera. None of us wants to be in the limelight like this but what choice do we have. I just want my quiet life back and when they back off so will I.
