Smoking in cars: support Philip Davies
Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:53
Thanks to those who have drawn this to my attention:
Philip Davies leads the charge against a ban on smoking in cars (ConservativeHome)
Interesting to see the list of Tories backing a ban, and those against it. If your MP is on either list I recommend strongly that you write to them expressing your views.

Maybe these Mp's should consider joining another political party as they will no doubt be voting with a lot of small minded, big state, Labour types.
The 13 Tories backing the ban were:
David Amess
Bob Blackman
Neil Carmichael
Jonathan Evans
Margot James
Chris Kelly
Jason McCartney
David Morris
Neil Parish
Stephen Phillips
Daniel Poulter
Henry Smith
Justin Tomlinson
Oh dear C777 you seem to have left out the 56 Tories opposing the ban, who were as follows:

David Davies

I'm staggered not to see Anne Milton's name on the "supporters" list, given how cosy she is with ASH, as featured on here not so long ago. Maybe the complaint lodged about her having worryingly too-close ties with such a biased lobby group when she's in charge of the department which organises the very area which they are interested in, have hit home? Let's hope so.
So, if you take away those 13 tories, only 63 combined labour and lib dems could be bothered staying behind to vote, eh? In my opinion, an excellent result for PETS (People who Enjoy Tobacco)!
By the way, Misty, it seems that, traditionally, Ministers and PPSs do not vote in 10 minute rule debates.
