Tobacco display ban - news and interviews
Monday, March 14, 2011 at 14:04
Channel 4 News featured a report about the tobacco display ban last week. Included a soundbite from me.
To hear an interview with me on Five Live Drive, click here before Wednesday. You'll find it at 2:18:40.
Health Secretary Andrew Lansley was interviewed on the same programme at 00:21:30.

Listening to Lansley there, it just shows how slimy and shameless politicians are. Even having his own mocking words toward Labour played back to him over the tobacco dicsplay ban didn't embarrass him.
They are truly beyond contempt.
That was an excellent interview you gave for both programmes.
Lansley obviously has been between house trained by ASH or been got at by the Department Of Health. And this is a Tory?
Good interview Simon.
I am beginning to seriously wonder whether the likes of Lansley, Milton and others have been vetted/groomed by the health lobby over the years. It would presumably be quite easy to target young MPs and invite them to join a minor health committee. Then, if they were suitable, help them get promoted to successively more influential ones.
Lanslely mentions in the interview on 5 Live, that Canada and Iceland show results from display bans. Yes, the results being that the display bans have had no impact whatsoever - and have not worked.
This oil-slick hypocrite was totally against display bans, but now swoons over the idea.
If you look carefully you can see the WHO strings above his head.
@JJ
And the EU's too.
Yes Dave - Point taken. I did actually mean to include the EU as well.
Yes, nice efficiently presented comments, Simon! However, the rest of the programme as presented by Channel 4 was hard to take seriously. It was almost a parody of itself.
"And this is a Tory?", asks Dave A.
Either Lansley is dumb enough to believe so, or cynical enough to pretend so. But whichever hat fits, he's in excellent company right now, and probably already cherishing the prospect of Cameron's 'defeat' at the hands of Mr Ed - at which point they can all put their feet up on the Opposition benches, and enjoy a nice long rest. With or wthout their families.
Riding the Magic Roundabout can be an unsettling experience for some.
It makes me feel sick just to watch it spin !
Fortunately (for Andrew's little pals), most of the electorate have stronger stomachs than I, it would seem.
