Conservative conference update.
Having initially refused Alastair Campbell's application for a conference pass, the Conservatives did a sharp u-turn yesterday.
Following the intervention of party chairman Grant Shapps, Campbell was given a pass that will enable him to address a meeting organised by Alcohol Concern, supporters of minimum pricing which Campbell also backs.
Meanwhile, not only has Nigel Farage been refused a pass, the Tories have also refused to list in their conference brochure meetings outside the conference zone where Farage is speaking.
They include a meeting on Monday hosted jointly by Forest and the Institute of Economic Affairs.
A Beer and a Fag with Farage takes place at 6.00pm at The Comedy Store, 3 & 4 Deansgate Locks, Whitworth Street West, a short walk from the conference centre.
No pass required. Everyone welcome.
