Perfect day

Arrived home this afternoon.

After the match yesterday I did what I always do when I'm in the area. I drove to Anstruther via St Andrews.

As I have mentioned before, this picturesque fishing village has the best fish and chip shop in Scotland. (It sold for £1.5 million when the original owner retired a few years ago.)

There's no secret to the success of this award-winning business. Hard work, great service, and - most important - the food is cooked to order. You may have to queue - up to an hour during very busy periods - but it's worth the wait.

You can eat inside (waitress service) or you can take your food outside and sit overlooking the harbour (below).

After that you can pop along to the quaintly named Salutation Bar where you can enjoy a pint of real ale or choose from an impressive list of 'Tipsy Coffees'.

As I said, what a perfect day.
