Forest Eireann tour update.

We have postponed John Mallon's triumphant march into Dublin until next week in order to avoid a clash with the Irish presidential election (featuring Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness and a cast of thousands) and no fewer than two referendums that are taking place in Ireland this week.

To date, as part of his two-week tour, John has visited eight towns and cities from Cork to Donegal via Limerick, Galway and Tralee (to name a few). If you are familiar with the roads in the more rural areas of Ireland, this is no mean feat.

John will now complete the job in Dublin next Tuesday. Whatever happens there the tour has been a great success. In a nation where few people publicly accept that smokers have any rights at all, we have taken our 'Smokers' Manifesto' around the country and secured interviews with the following:

Evening Echo, Cork
Cork Independent, Cork
WLR FM, Waterford
KLCR 96FM, Kilkenny
Radio Kerry, Co Kerry
Limerick Live 95FM, Limerick
Limerick Leader, Limerick
Clare Champion, Co Clare
Spin South West, Co Limerick
Galway Bay FM, Galway
Galway Independent, Galway
Midwest Radio, Co Mayo
Highland Radio, Co Donegal

Meanwhile you can read all about John's tour on the Forest Eireann blog. We are publishing his account in instalments, beginning today.
